When sighting an electric skateboard for the first time, Deepti was concerned for Newton’s legacy, and for all known current physics laws. She saw, from afar, someone on campus traveling uphill without so much as a push off the ground, and feared that science broke – what would Newton say about this negative friction and apparent disappearance of gravity? Upon further inspection however, she noticed the tiny remote the rider had and heard the buzz of the motor soon afterward. Fascinated and in complete awe, she decided that she too needed one to mount the hills of campus. But the prices of the board was not something she liked. Deepti will be using the $400 towards designing and building an electric boosted board from scratch. As of now, they are very expensive to purchase. However, if built from scratch, they can be cheaper. She will be using these funds to build a fun, efficient, and environmentally-friendly means of transportation.
