During winter break from December 28th – January 18th Raven will be in Beijing, China conducting ethnography at Peking University. She plans to interview members of the Peking University African Student Association (PUASA) to learn more about the experiences of African students on Chinese-majority campuses. While there is a considerable amount of scholarship on the experiences of African folks in China, especially Guangzhou, there is no scholarship on the experiences of African students navigating universities in China. The Contribution Project is funding the purchase of her videography equipment so the interviews can be made accessible to other scholars at the conclusion of the project.
