The traditional western music scale contains 12 notes that are tuned equally apart. However, by adding more notes to a scale or changing the intervals between them, you can create new and interesting complex harmonies. With calipers and a file, I hand-carved extra frets made of wood and taped them carefully to my classical guitar. I will use my funding to 3D-print new microtonal guitar frets. These new frets will have snap-on buttons, with button-holes on the guitar fretboard. With my new frets I will be able to quickly change frets and keys between pieces.
