When thinking about the biggest forms of unnecessary waste on Cornell’s campus, my mind immediately jumps to the use of disposable coffee cups. My mission is to eliminate this waste by phasing in a new system demanding the use of reusable mugs. Through greater economic incentives, other club perks and an opt-out structure, we are prepared to change the way Cornellians engage in the fight against climate change and reduce waste. I am excited to see the changes we can create on our campus, and set the example for universities nationwide.
