The failure of traditional policies to eliminate fatalities and severe injuries during traffic crashes has led to a fundamental shift in the approach of solving the problem of serious road accidents. Influencing individual responsibility through education, and other forms of campaigns has not yielded any significant gains. Therefore, a new approach such as the Vision Zero strategy is needed because it focuses on creating safe systems, collaboration and implementing a data driven approach to help reduce fatalities and serious injuries. My team wants to implement Vision Zero in the city of Kigali where I live.
